SOLD - Tony Evans Studio Pottery Raku Vase in Lavender, Metallic Fuchsia/Copper and Matte Charcoal

$0.00

Studio pottery vase by California ceramicist Tony Evans in glossy lavender and metallic fuchsia/copper on a matte charcoal base, c. 1980s. Signed and numbered, 3526, on bottom.

Raku pottery is the ancient technique of first firing individual pieces in a 2,000-degree fire and then quickly submerging the piece in a pit of leaves or paper to "reduce" the chemical reaction on the surface, creating a broken eggshell or multi-hued lustres and cobalt blue and copper red sheens.

Measures 9.5” diameter x 7.25” high
